Your Eurovision Herning September 2013

The Your Eurovision Song Contest September 2013 was the 4th edition of the Your Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Herning, the Kingdom of Denmark, following Nabiha's victory in the Summer 2013 edition with the song "Ask Yourself". It was announced during the meeting of the Head of Delegations in August 2013 that the dates for the two semi-finals would be 8 September 2013 and 15 September 2013, with the final planned for the evening of 23 September 2013.

46 countries took part during Your Eurovision September 2013, with Andorra, Faroe Islands, Kosovo, Portugal, Russia, Serbia and Turkey returning. Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay and Sri Lanka took part for the very first time. Albania, Åland Islands, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Finland, Lithuania, Mexico, Morocco and Slovenia withdrew from the competition.

In the end, The Netherlands won the contest with Within Temptation and their song 'Shot In The Dark'.

Location

After the winner's press conference, YE.DK announced that the September edition would take place in Herning, in the Boxen Arena.

Format

A total of 46 countries took part. A number of 22 countries participated in each Semi-Final with 12 of them qualifying for the Grand Final from each Semi-Final. The host country and the lucky country joined them in the Grand Final.

The official tagline for the contest was 'On Top Of The World'.
