Branding

The official branding for the 2024·2 contest was revealed along with the host cities – Calgary and Montréal on Nov 30, 2024. The stunning artwork draws inspiration from Canada’s vast natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, with the aim of reflecting the country’s inclusivity, diversity, and creativity.

The visual identity features a mesmerizing starscape illuminated by vibrant northern lights, encircling a central snowflake motif. This imagery, coupled with the slogan "Find Your Light", sets the tone for a contest that celebrates unity, self-expression, and the power of music to connect us all.

Discussing the design, executive producer Reggie Juárez-Nembhard shared the creative vision behind the concept:

"From the beginning, our goal was to embrace all aspects of Canada's land and culture. The northern lights symbolize connection—between life, people, and the land—and reflect the deep relationship Indigenous peoples have with nature, the environment, and the spiritual realms. The lights, with their shifting hues, also represent the diversity of Canada's population and their stories."

The lights have been artistically interpreted to embody the natural elements central to many cultures:

- Fire: Symbolizing life, warmth, and renewal.

- Water: Representing purity, change, and the flow of knowledge.

- Air: Signifying breath, spirit, and the unseen forces that connect all beings.

At the heart of the design is the snowflake—a striking emblem that holds multiple meanings:

- Earth: Symbolizing stability, grounding, and the profound connection between spirit and land

- Life: Showcasing the intricate web of living beings who share this planet and the mighty maple leaf

Juárez-Nembhard elaborated: “Its unique patterns remind us of the individuality of every artist, every culture, and every person. Just as snowflakes form and connect to create something beautiful, so too does Your Eurovision bring together the brilliance of its participants to create a shared experience of unity and light. In this way, the snowflake transcends its traditional associations, becoming a beacon for the living connection between humanity and the natural world."

Reflecting Canada's linguistic richness, the slogan "Find Your Light" appears in the Canada 1500 typeface in English, French, and three of Canada’s most widely spoken Indigenous languages: Cree, Ojibwe, and Inuktitut. For the first time in Your Eurovision history, the Canadian Aboriginal syllabics script has been integrated into the visual branding, adding a layer of cultural depth and honoring the voices of Canada's First Peoples.

“You can expect typography to be an essential part of the design concept for this edition, just like our syllabics have been integral in bringing literacy to the most remote areas of the country. In fact, Canadian syllabics are valued for the ease with which literacy can be achieved, so we really wanted to celebrate them.”
