Your Eurovision Song Contest Los Angeles & Seattle 2023

Your Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be the 8th edition of the rebooted Your Eurovision Song Contest and the 22nd edition overall, that will be held in the United States of America, following the victory of Dove Cameron in Your Eurovision Song Contest 2022.2 in Casablanca, Morocco with the song "Boyfriend". This marked the first victory of the United States at the contest, and the first victory of a North American country overall. Organized by the Your Eurovision Broadcasting Union (YEBU), the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and the National Public Radio (NPR), the contest consisted of a quarter-final, which was held on May 27 2023, two semi-finals, which were held on June 10 and June 24 2023 and a Grand Final, which was held on July 8 2023.

Bidding phase

Host broadcasters PBS & NPR launched the bidding process on 18 March 2023. They stated that "any potential candidates must meet a set of minimum standards that demonstrate they have the capacity, capability, and experience to host an event of this scale and complexity."

Phase 1  |  Bid Presentation

During the first stage of the bidding process, a total of 70 bids were received from 66 American cities. California was the state with the most cities bidding (8), followed by Texas with four and Washington with three. Las Vegas (NV), New York City (NY), Portland (OR) and Salt Lake City (UT) submitted two bids each, while the following 15 states and territories failed to submit a bid: American Samoa (AS), Arkansas (AR), Connecticut (CT), Delaware (DE), Guam (GU), Maine (ME), Mississippi (MS), Montana (MT), New Hampshire (NH), North Dakota (ND), Northern Mariana Islands (MP), US Virgin Islands (VI), Vermont (VT), West Virginia (WV) and Wyoming (WY).

Phase 2  |  Public Vote & Initial Evaluation

Eighteen cities were chosen to move on based on a public vote. After an evaluation, San Juan was disqualified, as Puerto Rico has participated at the contest independently. Honolulu and Norfolk did not meet the size requirements for the event.

Phase 3  |  Shortlisted Venues & Final Decision

Seven cities were shortlisted by the organizers to develop their bids further. Atlanta, Chicago & San Francisco sent in independent bids, while Los Angeles & Seattle, and Las Vegas & Salt Lake City chose to bid as co-hosts. Ultimately, Los Angeles & Seattle won the hosting rights.
